I searched long and hard for a solution for this and unless you have an underscore in the machine name of the server you could remove, there was no solution for this problem. In my case, there is a period in the domain name and that might be part of the cause of the problem but I can't be sure.

But I do have a solution. At least it worked for me. Log in with FireFox and create a new login account with the roles you need. I created a new host account and it works fine in Internet Explorer. Try it.
